About

From early 2001 Derren discovered a passion for the photographic arts, and hence studied the craft since high school as well as enrolling in the Photography Studies College in Melbourne. In 2007, he graduated and received an Advanced Diploma for his efforts.
Whilst doing some considerable experimenting in his early years with black and white film photography, it wasn’t until early 2004 that he maintained a sense of discipline and composed his first series – The handbook guide to love. Using this new sense of drive to improve creativity as an artist he started to combine elements of his hobbies and other interests, such as cartooning and playing the guitar to complement his works.

Starting with covering local bands for S-press! magazine, Derren has since developed and evolved into a professional photographer, with an enthusiasm and strive for perfection in all his works. Due to assisting other professional photographers, his extensive studies, personal pursuits and early jobs for clients, Derren is well versed in most areas of photography including live music, sports, presentation nights, weddings, portraiture, editorials, documentaries,  fashion and commercial shoots to name a few.

Derren uses a Canon 30D
